KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL MEAL PREPPING
Meal prepping is work but is well worth it because it helps keep us on track with healthy eating. It can be made easier if we have the right ingredients at home. I have lots of practice in this area as I meal prep every week and had to stay diligent about it for the last three months to prepare for my show. I will continue doing so even after my competition.
It starts with stocking the pantry and refrigerator. Here are some items (perishable and non-perishable) that I keep in stock:
1) Spices
2) Oils and condiments
3) Sweeteners (organic raw honey) & agave syrup
4) Nuts and seeds
5) Canned and bottled goods
6) Frozen foods
7) Grains, beans and other dried products
8) Seasonal fruits and vegetables
Lastly, it is well worth it to have a crock pot. I bought one for the first time at the start of my training and fell in love with how it cut down on some of my cooking time.
