What’s all the rave about sea moss you ask? Well, that’s a valid question and one that I asked several people before deciding to try it for myself.

Sea moss, also known as Irish moss or red seaweed, is a type of seaweed that grows year round in tide pools and inlets. It is a jello-like carbohydrate that is used in baked goods and cosmetics. It can be eaten on its own or can be added to shakes, soups and stews.
Studies show that sea moss can boost the immune system. This was the driving force behind me giving it a try, especially in trying to stay healthy during covid. I’ve been using it for about a month and feel really good. Sea moss may also prevent Parkinson’s disease although there is still research being done on that.
This superfood is also a vegan and gluten free source of nutrients such as: Vitamin B2, Vitamin B12, Calcium, Chromium, Magnesium and Zinc. It is low in calories, fat, sodium and carbohydrates. However, since sea moss contains iodine, a serving size (2 tablespoons) will do.
You can prepare sea moss yourself or you can purchase it in capsule form or even more convenient in individual gel packs. The gel packs are great to take on the run and add it to your meal or shakes.
