FIT FACTS
Clients often ask me these three questions so I thought it important to address them:
- How important is recovery?
Recovery is important because the body needs rest especially if one is exercising consistently. Without proper rest, the client can regress or even experience injury which would negate all the hard work that one has put into their training. Recovery does a body good.
2. Are carbs bad for me?
Healthy carbs, especially vegetable carbs are good for us. They are the body’s preferred source of fuel. Not taking in enough carbohydrates can interfere with performance and could affect the ability to build muscle tissue and sustain fat loss. The key is to eat a balanced diet of starchy and nonstarchy carbs along with protein and fats.
3. I’m under a lot of stress. Is that preventing me from losing weight?
The answer is stress can definitely affect fat loss. Stress promotes feelings of hunger and cravings for comfort foods and can interfere with our sleep patterns which can then affect cortisol levels. Stress can slow metabolism by suppressing thyroid production, The goal is to focus on stress management as well as your exercise regimen.
