For some, emotional eating has been a challenge to some degree. It’s made even more so during COVID. There are others who never had to worry about it until now.  It can be a difficult barrier to overcome especially when trying to improve one’s health or lose weight.
There are a myriad of emotions associated with it such as stress, anxiety, depression, sadness or anger. When dealing with these emotions it can cloud our ability to deal with what’s really going on. There are ways to help manage stress and the other emotions one may be feeling by seeking therapy, developing an exercise regimen and mindful work such as yoga and/or meditation.
Here are some other helpful tips that can help one deal with emotional eating:

1) Journaling
2) Meditation
3) Listening to your favorite music
4) Getting together with a friend
5) Developing a hobby
6) Artwork
7) Planning healthy meals
8) Getting sufficient rest

There are other ways as well to curb emotional eating but these are a good place to start. Remember, you are not alone in this journey and if need be, don’t hesitate to seek a professional to get you on the right track.
