Make your workouts count! You hold yourself accountable when setting a calorie goal because you’ll have to expend a specific number of calories. When doing cardio for time there can be a sense of complacency by feeling that you put the time in worked out when the question that needs to be asked is “was it efficient and productive? Could I have turned it up a notch and worked harder”? We fall into a comfort zone and there is no growth or change when we stay there. Doing steady state cardio will not burn the amount of calories needed to facilitate weight loss.

For example, if you set a calorie burn goal of 150 calories on the treadmill and it takes you 30 minutes to complete, you can set a goal to shave time off by increasing the intensity. By doing so you reach the same number of calories in less time.

Sounds simple right? By changing our mindset it can change our fitness game. By focusing on calorie burn, we might not have to spend 45 minutes to an hour doing cardio when you can get a great caloric burn in possibly half the time.

Along with this we have to make sure we’re eating healthy and getting the proper amount of rest as well.
